Why Do You Want What You Want?

What If Your Desires Were More Than Just Ideas?

Echoes of the Soul

What if your desires weren’t random but a call from deep within—echoing your very purpose? Out of eight billion people, no two are alike. Would Nature go to such lengths for no reason? Perhaps our purpose is to express our uniqueness.

We are happiest when we are true to ourselves, yet most people don’t know themselves well. In a society that values freedom, we live largely by routine—work, chores, responsibilities—until 95% of our lives run on autopilot. No wonder self-help is a $40 billion industry; we rarely get what we truly want.

The Journey of Self-Discovery

To live authentically, we must understand who we are, and our desires are the roadmap. Every living being has a blueprint for its highest potential—an acorn becomes an oak under the right conditions. Likewise, when we embrace what we love, we thrive.

Instead of focusing on what we lack, we should nurture our natural inclinations. Ask yourself: In optimal conditions, what would your ideal life look like? The answers have always been within you, waiting to be uncovered.

Your desires are not just whims; they are seeds of authenticity, leading to true fulfillment.

Finding Your Soulmate

Self-discovery is also at the heart of my book, The List Method—a science-based approach to finding your soulmate. We aren’t meant to be alone; life is richer when shared with the right partner. When you clarify your needs, values, and desires, creating a List of your ideal match becomes easy—and so does finding them.

As Dr. Michael Beckwith says, You are a fully formed idea in the mind of God. Listen within—your desires will guide you toward your highest potential.
