Negativity is everywhere, yet there is so much hidden loveliness. So much! 

What we focus on, grows – at least in our perception-  until soon all we see,  hear and  feel is ‘the thing’. And most of the time, because of the news, TV and – yes, even the well-meaning but fear-mongering environmentalists -  ’the thing’ is negative.  People actually think that focusing on all the bad in the world is ‘being realistic’ yet it is no more realistic than focusing on all the good that is there. The negative just has more momentum because it gets so much ‘air time’.  Like those images where you can either see an old hag or a lovely young woman – once you see the one you can’t see the other anymore.   None of us actually see ‘reality’ we only see our perception of reality.

So it takes a little effort to train the attention on the good and the positive. No, let me rephrase that – it takes A LOT of effort to see only the good. It can be a bit tricky, too. Because as soon as you focus ‘Against Negativity’ the focus is again on the negative. It must become a daily practice.  When you become aware that your focus slipped, you make a course correction. Without self-condemnation! – that’s a negative!   

It is the pearl of great price. It is worth everything because it changes your whole life.  When you train your eye to see the hidden loveliness, you see the world through the eyes of Love.   People are not nearly as annoying or scary or mean when you see them through the eyes of compassion.  It gains momentum – suddenly you see beauty everywhere. You find yourself in joy without even knowing why and you become the light you are meant to be.
